Summary: We only collect the personal data we need to serve you and operate our church. We do not sell your data and we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

1. Who we are

RCCG House of Favour ("the Church", "we", "us") is a registered charitable organisation and local assembly of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. We act as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with our church activities.

2. What data we collect

3. Legal basis for processing

  • Consent — event registrations (you tick the data consent box at registration)
  • Legitimate interest — responding to contact form messages; basic website analytics
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain records by law (e.g. Gift Aid records)

4. Data retention

  • Event registration data — retained for 12 months after the event date, then deleted
  • Contact form messages — retained for 6 months
  • Admin account data — retained while the account is active
  • Uploaded images — retained until manually deleted by an administrator

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party. We may share data with:

  • Email service providers (used only to send confirmation emails)
  • Hosting providers (Vercel / Supabase) — data processed under GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreements
  • Statutory authorities — only where required by law

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent — where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw at any time

7. Cookies

This website uses one functional session cookie to maintain your session when signed in to the admin area. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your cookie preference is stored in your browser's local storage and is not transmitted to our servers.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.
